We’re just nearing the end of a rather epic cataloging spree, where we added tons of new titles to our collection. There were two main focuses this time round: high-interest novels for the younger kids, and interesting non-fiction titles that make for enjoyable recreational reading.
One title that fits into that latter category is Elin Kelsey’s engaging, engrossing and hopeful Not Your Typical Book About the Environment.
The title sums it up pretty well: this is a book that, instead of dwelling on the future of our planet, explains how different companies, academics and regular individuals are creating sustainable products and systems in breezy but informative prose. It’s a fascinating read, and with lots of comics, sidebars and diagrams by Clayton Hanmer, it’s incredibly interesting.
Makes a great choice for kids who want a high-interest non-fiction book!
