The Sweet Scent of Science

We mentioned a while ago that there was a Grade 4 student embarking on an enrichment project wherein he was going to investigate the perfume-making process, and learn to make some on his own.  This morning we made a trip to the market to collect our materials, and got the experiment started.  We decided to extract the essential oils from nine different things: [citrus fruits] oranges, limes, lemons; [flowers] tulips, hyacinth; [herbs] mint, rosemary, dill; and [wildcard] pineapple!
