St. George’s Students Help Count Down to the London Olympics

A few weeks ago, the St. George’s community was part of a global initiative by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office to have 100 British Embassies and High Commissions in 100 countries host activates on 18 April to mark the 100 day milestone on the road to the London Olympic Games.  The event was even featured on the British High Commission in Ottawa’s website!

Joined by British Consul General Alex Budden and special guest Canadian Olympic Gold Medalist Ashleigh McIvor, 100 students from St. George’s School in Vancouver held 100 Union Jacks as they sprinted 100 metres across a sports field to mark 100 days to the start of the games.

Current countdown: 51 days, 22 days, 42 minutes!
