Geocaching 101

ge·o·cach·ing (ˈjēōˌkaSHiNG/)

noun: geocaching

  1. The recreational activity of hunting for and finding a hidden object by means of GPS coordinates posted on a website.

The grade 5 classes are bursting at the seams to tell you about Geochaching. Today, Ms. Howe and Ms. DeLancey took 5MH and 5DC to participate in the worldwide craze that is Geocaching. I wish I had GoPro footage to show (maybe next time). Both classes successfully found the Cache which was hidden in Chaldecott Park on 25th avenue. We got to log about our journey online and also got to take something from the Cache as long as we put something in. We took the purple ring and gave our miniature Hawaiian dancer!

We encourage you and your family to try this recreational activity. You can download the FREE Geocaching app on your phone.

If you are interested in learning more about Geocaching please comment on this post, see Ms. DeLancey or ask any of the grade 5 students.
