On February 11th myself, Connor O’Keefe, James Skene, Armaan Jaffer and Ms. DeLancey went to St. John’s School to participate in the Gratitude Graffiti Project. The host of the event taught us that just like we practice soccer we need to practice gratitude. We also learned that when we think about happy memories, we feel happy and there are physiological benefits. In grade 5 we have started a wall of gratitude, we added strip of colorful paper to the wall and graffitied it with positive thoughts. Our whole class is going to practice gratitude for 21 days and eventually we will graffiti up the school with our thoughts of gratitude. We won’t tell you how, but we guarantee you will see it!! If you are inspired by our work we encourage you to try it out too. Finally we leave you with a quote:

“Gratitude is like a flashlight. It lights up what is already there. You don’t necessarily have anything more or different, but suddenly you can actually see what it is. And because you can see, you no longer take it for granted.” – M.J. Ryan in Attitudes of Gratitude
